1.Absorption Cells: throughout Amazo's synthetic body permit the android to replicate the special abilities of any super-beings in his immediate proximity. With every being encountered, Amazo becomes even more powerful and virtually unstoppable. Originally, he could only use one power at a time [1] and has duplicated Superman's strength, The Flash's speed, Green Lantern's power ring, and Wonder Woman's magic lasso among others. In most cases, Amazo possesses a 'default' form consisting of the powers of the first five (post-Crisis) JLA members, capable of adapting to incorporate other powers. After years of battling the JLA to a standstill, he recently "upgraded" by absorbing part of Hourman's Worlogog which gave him time traveling powers as well.
2.Power Amplification: The ability to absorb others' powers and magnify them to greater levels.

History:
Amazo was created by Professor Ivo, a scientist once under Luthor's employ. Amazo has the ability to read a person's abilities and mimic them, taking them and using them for his own use. By the time Amazo was able to copy the entire Justice League's powers, he realized that the man he had allied with, Lex Luthor, had been tricking him all along. He never planned to help Amazo in his life after defeating the Justice League--in fact, he planned to destroy him. With this in mind, Amazo left the planet and began scouting the galaxy for a more intelligent life.A veritable "god" with all of knowledge, powers and evolution, Amazo returned to earth after a short hiatus in an attempt to remove Lex Luthor, the man who had lied to him when he was still a naive robot, from existence. Though he did meet up with Luthor, he was convinced by Luthor to allow him to live--in an attempt for Luthor to right his wrongs and do better, and for Amazo to continue his evolving.
Dr. Fate arrived on the scene seconds after and allowed Amazo to go with him, in an effort to help him find his place in life.
Amazo later helped the Justice League in their fight against Solomon Grundy; Grundy's revival through Chaos Magic allowed him to absorb the energy that Amazo projected at him. Amazo teleported to a far place in the galaxy to figure out how to counteract this dilemma.
Role Play Sample: Amazo stepped out into the rain, and using the Marsian ManHunter's power, transformed himself into an ordinary looking citizen. He had been moving about from city too city, reading, analyzing and retaining all knowledge found in books in each and every library, and this city would have made number 12. He moved quickly, greeting people as he went along and asked around for directions for the libraries. After a few hours of searching, he decided it was time ti hit the libraries, and just picked on at random. When he arrived, he quickly sat, and began to reading the books, finishing and retaining the knowledge from each book within minutes, not stopping for anything. At closing time, He hid himself from sight as he only had a few more to finish. As soon as he had finished, he left the library, not caring for its security systems, and broke through them if necessary. "Only a few more on this planet," said Amazo as he flew to the next library.
